Engen with a difference

■ Engen Fasle Bay 1 Stop owner Kobus Pretorius, pictured, wasn’t prepared to have his customers inconvenienced if Day Zero were to arrive, so he commissioned the construction of a desalination plant which converts borehole water to potable water. Within six months, a primary water treatment plant capable of providing the daily needs of the business was designed, manufactured and installed. It can be described as having a small factory on-site, but Kobus believes that the effort is well worth it. After all, only by controlling his own water resource can he ensure that every customer enjoys water of the finest quality.
