The Western Cape Artists’ Society (WCAS) will host artist Jalaun Schultz, for an acrylic painting demonstration at its next meeting on Thursday May 9.
Jalaun is mostly self-taught in acrylics, water-based oils, inks and specialises in floral art and still-life. Flowers are a constant source of inspiration evoking strong emotions of joy, beauty, and resilience.
Jalaun’s palette is bold and expressive combining bright, clashing hues to create a sense of energy and tension or to place emphasis on movement and dynamism with artworks where flowers are in motion or about to burst out of the canvas. Jalaun’s artworks are sold both locally and abroad.
The meeting will be hosted at the Rotary Club Hall, Lourensford Road, Somerset West. Time for arrival is at 6pm with the meeting to start at 6.30pm.
Members pay R20 and visitors pay R30 which includes tea, coffee and snacks.
