Bird’s eye view

On Saturday July 28, the fly fishing community had a major gathering at Lourensford Estate, and the Somerset West Bird Club was invited to have an exhibit. The committee took up the challenge, and commissioned Sonja Peacey to brave the winter weather and set up a stand with the help of husband Russel. Sonja and Marèsa Volsteedt, pictured, “manned” the fort for the entire day and had great fun selling raffle tickets for the Sappi Bird Book with sound pen. There were rolling bird pictures on video and bird books to look at for the curious. All the bird pictures on the new banner are from their own membership.
