Alet Muller, a Grade 12 pupil at Bloemhof Girls’ High School in Stellenbosch, is a soft-spoken and kind young woman, who is extremely ambitious, and passionate about the fine arts.
Not only does she excel in ballet; piano and violin, but Alet is also a Boland high jump athlete.
She’s been a member of Bloemhof’s Stringendo String Orchestra as First Violinist, since 2014.
She is also the holder of Grade 8 Royal School violin examination certificate, with an 80% pass.
Alet has participated in numerous national Olympiads during 2017, one of which was the SAIPA National Accounting Olympiad, where she placed third nationally, and was the overall winner in Grade 11.
She was the provincial finalist in Intermediate Foundation and runner-up in Intermediate and Advanced 1, and last year she also received honorary colours for the Cecchetti Advanced 1 ballet examination.
Her list of academic, cultural and sport achievements is indicative of her high level of determination, dedication and discipline.
Accomplishments include the Paarl Valley Ballet Eisteddfod – 15 years, where she was the Solo Novice Category Winner, and in 2017, the RAD Intermediate Examination Distinction (85%).
This year, she competed in the ABRSM Violin Grade 8 Stellenbosch Eisteddfod Strings Category, where she received 85% for her sonata, and 88% for her concerto, and in the 2017 Unisa Grade 7 she received a distinction, and a Cum Laude at the Stellenbosch Eisteddfod Strings Concerto.
Piano is another of her instruments, and she obtained a Cum Laude at the 2014 Stellenbosch Eisteddfod Piano Solo, and a merit for the 2017 Trinity College London Grade 6.
Alet’s academic success also speaks for itself, as last year she received second placed in the June 2017 exams, with 92.83%, and the best performance in mathematics, physical science and life science in Grade 11.
