Nipper champs

■ Matthew (under-10) and Ansty (under-12) van Romburgh received the award for best competitor of their respective age group at the Nipper Western Cape Championships, which was held at Strand beach on Saturday and Sunday, March 3 and March 4. The final and last local competition on the Nipper and lifesaving calendar will be held at Kingsbeach in Port Elizabeth, during the school holidays from Saturday March 31 to Saturday April 7, where clubs from all over the country will be battling it out in the pool, in the surf and on the beach at the 2018 General Tire South African Lifesaving Championships.
