March Turnbull is the guest speaker at the Helderberg U3A meeting at Strand Town Hall, on Wednesday October 2, at 10am. His presentation, subtitled “The quagga can’t have gone ‘extinct’ if it never was a separate species. So, it should be possible to rebreed it – in theory…”, is about a group of dedicated people who are trying to rebreed the long-extinct quagga, which, according to taxidermist and self-taught scientist, Reinhold Rau, who founded the Quagga Project, was just a plains zebra in disguise. The doors open at 9.30am for tea and coffee. For more information, contact Brodwyn on 083 6040 784.
