Louis aims for America

 Sixteen-year-old Louis Loubser Jnr of Paul Roos Gimnasium, who plays off a scratch handicap, birdied the second play-off hole to win the Bridge Fund Managers Junior Series tournament at Boschenmeer Golf Estate, Paarl on Sunday August 19. Managed by the South African Golf Development Board, the Bridge Junior Series of events run countr- wide from July to March next year, for boys and girls in the under-13 and under-19 divisions. The big prize sees the top two under-19 golfers being flown to America to compete in the Junior North and South Championship at Pinehurst next year, an event which has featured future Major winners including Jack Nicklaus. By winning, Louis automatically qualifies for the Bridge Junior Series final where he will compete for the trip to play in America.
