The Heritage Club of Somerset West, formed over 28 years ago to replace the 1820 Settlers Association, is a non-profit club which organises monthly outings to venues around the Western Cape.
The club arranges nine outings each year for single people and couples, in safety and in a social atmosphere where they can meet other people.
Transport is by coach to each destination and where needed, lunch is arranged.
Outings take place on the first Friday of the month at 9am, departing from the Caledon Street carpark opposite the Circle Shopping Centre and returning at about 4.30pm.
Arrangements are made for safe parking of vehicles at the carpark.
A matinee theatre visit is arranged during the winter, usually on a Saturday or Sunday, and there is also an end-of-year lunch.
The annual subscription is R70 for singles and R100 for couples. Outing costs vary depending on the nature of the event, and the distance travelled.
