I read the letter from Jo-Anne DesFountain with interest (“Terrifying explosion”, Bolander letters, April 11) and have to inform her that it was published in the papers (“Filming in Paardevlei”, Bolander April 4) of the pending explosion that was to happen at Paardevlei on Friday, April 6.
It never fails to astonish me how many people, if they do get papers, fail to read them thoroughly. The article was well written and informed everybody what was going to happen and when.
A huge film company such as the one undertaking the scenes would never ever go ahead without the necessary permission.
Maybe she will read this letter stating it was not such a surprise to all and sundry.
