Emergency centre upgraded

■ Stellenbosch Hospital officially opened its R37.8 million upgraded Emergency Centre and Out Patient Department last week, which will bring much relief to the large community which relies on the hospital for quality health care. The entrance to the hospital has been shifted back from Soeteweide Street to Merriman Avenue, with improved aesthetics at the front of the hospital. Other improvements to the infrastructure also include a new electricity and water reticulation system as well as an upgraded public announcement system, fire alarm and patient call system.
