■ The Helderberg Hospice Curls of Compassion project, which works in partnership with CANSA, recently received the gift of three ponytails from Hayden Callaghan, left, his brother Bryce Callaghan (not pictured), and their friend Kenny van Romburg, right. Hair donations such as these are sent to a wig manufacturer of human hair. The wig-making process can take between eight and 12 weeks, and the wig is then given at no cost to an identified, registered patient. Anyone in the community who has long hair which they are considering cutting, may choose to consider donating their ponytail to hospice.
