Paul English has just published his tenth novel, and these are the ideal books to get young people reading, using their imaginations – and being inspired to read the next one..
Paul has the most amazing imagination, writes as if he is describing the scene in his head. He has planned the series up to book 20 (so far), with more in the works!
The books will appeal to teenagers and young adults – boys and girls – as they have all the elements of an exciting computer game – aliens, young people becoming superheroes/superheroines as well as the forces of good and evil colliding.
They cater for easy reading, because they are fun and exciting and about teenagers and young adults – not only coping with the “sturm und drang” of being youngsters, but also having aliens invading our earth.
The books have beautifully illustrated bright covers from book one, Fire Angel: Genesis to book 10, Fade: Shadows & Whispers.
Here are some of the heroes and villians the readers get to meet and know: Haley Hunter (Fire Angel), Dawn Armstrong (Fade), Kendra Hendrix (Nemesis), Matt Braddock (Sentinel), Alexandra Grand (Liberty Girl) and the Drahux Empire and Project: Guardian (a clandestine government force).
The Scorched Earth Trilogy (books 6, 7 and 8) sees the alien Drahux Empire invade Earth in an attempt to bring it under their imperial banner.
This culminates with the superheroes from the previous books, along with a couple of new ones, meeting and teaming together for the first time to combat this threat.
Paul can be reached at fireangeluniverse@gmail.com, and The Fire Angel Universe Facebook page is Facebook.com/FireAngelUniverse; his blog is backroombulletin.wordpress.com.
Prices for the books range from R180 to R250, and they can be ordered from Paul directly, or at Bookworms bookstore, situated in Twin Oaks Centre, 148 Main Road (directly opposite Boston City Campus) and hopefully soon, Wordsworth Books.
