Steffen Kalbskopf, Somerset West
A brief note to say how grateful to God we are for the welcome rain on Tuesday February 13, and also on Saturday February 10.
The storm was accompanied by marble- sized hail measuring up to a maximum of 18mm across. While in Helderberg Estate, I recorded 16mm in total, some places in Strand-Gordon’s Bay had over 20mm in 15 minutes.
Typical monthly totals so far for myself and other friends around Somerset West are in the region of 30-37mm.
On a separate note, I want to thank the municipality for responding so promptly when I reported problems with blocked sewage just before Christmas. On both occasions, a team came round within hours.
What a fine example – they deserve their annual bonus.
