Members of the Silver Oaks Craft Club, which is run by Candy Malan, helped decorate 22 shoeboxes for the Santa Shoebox project in the Helderberg area. The group meets once a week, and have for the past few weeks been very busy playing Santa and decorating beautiful boxes, which wil be filled with donations from the public and given to underprivileged youngsters in this area. This year, the Santa Shoebox organisation is increasing the number of boxes to 4 000, and are still need donors who want to pledge a box, to go onto the website www.santashoebox.org.za, select a child and make that young person feel special this Christmas. These boxes are often the only gift these children will receive, and it is filled with items that they can use throughout the year. There are still a number of children and also teenagers who have not yet been selected, and they appeal to all our generous sponsors in this area to once again make the joy of giving a reality.
