Bolander editor Carolyn Frost took this photograph in the Raithby area, which captured the aptly-named Helderberg mountain range, with its distinctive dome. It was a blissful day in terms of weather, with the lightest warm breeze rustling the leaves remaining on the vines, and a quick stop to pick a bunch of “na-oes druiwe” (after-the-harvest grapes) provided a sugary pick-me-up, and very sticky hands. There was a roadblock on Winery Road, manned by extremely polite, efficient SAPS members, who examined prerequisite paperwork for being out and about, and bade a sincere message: “Bly veilig en gesond!” (Stay safe and healthy). I thanked them, and all others, who make this possible, in ways big and small.
