Local team wins league for the third consecutive year

The under-12 soccer team from the Chaka Pioneers Football Club based in Sir Lowry’s Pass Village once again triumphed as champions of the League in the Helderberg Local Football Association League championships hosted at the Lwandle Sport Complex on Sunday November 26.
The under-12 team captain is Xolela Magqabi, left, with team goalkeeper Phomello Thamahane. Coach Taurai Chakauya, says Phomello only conceded one goal this entire soccer season.

Coach of Chaka Pioneers Football Club in Sir Lowry’s Pass Village is Taurai Chakauya shows off the medals for winning the league three times in a row and their winning trophy for 2023. The under-team team under his guidance has won the league since 2021. “I believe in the boys and we can go far with them if we can get any help with our transport but right now transport is a barrier as we have boys from different places that we need to get together, so the lack of transport is our main problem.” Anyone that would like to assist the team with sponsorships, including a kit, or their transport can contact Chakauya at 079 809 2411.
