Isolation birdwatching

Eppie McFarlane of Somerset West took this picture of a southern collared sunbird, sipping sugar-water from one of the nectar-feeders in her garden. “We’ve set up a camera on a tripod, and as I sit working, I keep an ear open for the sunbirds – they are quite vocal when they arrive – and was lucky enough to catch him looking right at the camera.”
