Vergelegen wine estate in Somerset West, is offering visitors the opportunity to experience the excitement of a wine harvest first-hand.
For a limited time only, until end of March, the estate is offering a guided wine safari drive through the beautiful vineyards.
Guests can enjoy spectacular mountain and vineyard scenery, taste award-winning wines at specific vineyard sites, and gain access to the hilltop cellar, renowned for its innovative architecture.
Tour highlights include unique sauvignon blanc and cabernet sauvignon tastings; being transported in a stylish game drive vehicle, with the drive offering them a vineyard overview with stops at specific vineyards; a visit to the gravitational flow cellar, which has three working levels buried 11m into the ground, as well as a discovery of the underground barrel vault.
Visitors on tour will get to enjoy a 360-degree view from the cellar rooftop garden, overlooking False Bay and the Hottentots Holland Mountain range, the town of Somerset West below, the Atlantic Ocean beyond and, in the distance, Table Mountain.
The tour is available daily depending on the weather, departing at 10am from the wine tasting centre.
Duration of the tour is approximately two hours, and the maximum number of guests allowed on a tour, is eight people. Due to safety regulations, no children under 12 years are allowed.
