The Cape Cultural Collective (CCC) will showcase poets featured in their 2nd poetry anthology, Beyond Truth’s Edge, on Sunday September 10 at the Star Theatre, Homecoming Centre in Buitenkant Street, District Six, at 4pm.
Zenariah Barends, Chris Ferndale, Diana Ferrus, Khadija Heeger, Vusumuzi Mpofu, Vuyokazi Ngemntu, Roché Kester and Afeefa Omar are the poets performing at the event which will close off the Open Book Festival. While many of the poets have been part of the Open Book Festival before in their individual capacities, this is the first time that the collective will present a joint performance.
Beyond Truth’s Edge, the second poetry anthology of the CCC, was published in December 2022, as part of their 15th anniversary. The anthology covers the full range of human emotions and experience – life, love, disappointment, hope, aspirations, anger, pain and joy.
Entry is free but tickets must be booked beforehand on the Open Book website on https://openbookfestival.co.za/programme/beyond-truths-edge/.
