On Sunday December 13, at 3.30pm, Blaine Josephs (tenor) and Alexandra Beaven (piano), will perform a recital consisting of classical voice and piano music in the Old Nectar gardens.
Both performers are students at Stellenbosch University. The programme commences
with Richard Strauss’s 8 Gedichte aus ‘Letzte Blätter’, Op. 10, followed by a brief interval, and concludes with three songs by the great Russian composer Sergei Rachmaninoff, Op. 26, no. 10, Op. 21 no. 7 and Op. 4 no. 4), and a cycle by South African composer, Arnold van Wyk, entitled Vier Weemoedige Liedjies.
Tickets are available on Quicket for R150, and guests are welcome to picnic in the Old Nectar gardens prior to the concert, and enjoy a complimentary refreshment after the concert. Parking will be available on the premises.
