Grande Provence is hosting a Women’s Day high tea in the Franschhoek Valley, on Thursday August 9, featuring tiered platters laden with sweet and savoury morsels, accompanied by the estate’s Méthode Cap Classique. The tea includes a bubbly and cupcake tasting, and a gift. Executive chef Guy Bennett has created flavour combinations such as roasted red pepper, chevin mousse and aubergine and harissa; pulled slow-cooked beef short rib; smoked Franschhoek trout with dill pickles and lemon labneh; and aged Huguenot cheddar with basil and semi-dried tomato pesto, pictured left. Greens include a garden root vegetable slaw with toasted almonds and fynbos vinaigrette; and a baby cos and smoked chicken salad with buttermilk dressing. The assortment of sweet treats, pictured right, includes salted caramel éclairs, cranberry and walnut nougat; Valrhona chocolate brownies; and carrot and ginger cupcakes.
The event costs R350, and booking is essential. Call
