The much-loved pantomime of Cinderella, a poor girl who is not allowed to go to the ball, but still find true love, is on at The Playhouse Theatre in Somerset West, until Saturday May 4. Carnivals of the Heart, who gave us Blood Brothers, A Streetcar Named Desire, Fiela’s Child, Romeo and Juliet, Jack and the Beanstalk and more, presents this classic with Amanda van Wyngaard as the headliner. Complete with villagers and dancers, this foot-tapping production will delight and warm the hearts of the whole family. Scripted by Mieke Botha, the plot takes some interesting twists and turns while maintaining all those classic moments, with colourful costumes by Heather Fergusson, and direction by Darryl Spijkers and Jon-Paul Ruschenbaum. Tickets can be booked through Computicket.Â
