Dirtopia fun

Dirtopia Trail Centre on Delvera wine farm on the R44 outside Stellenbosch is hosting a number of events in June. An intermediate MTB skills clinic and a fundamental MTB skills clinic take place on Saturday June 8 and Sunday June 23 respectively, presented by David Hogan, for ages 12 and up. Sessions are adapted to the participants with the aim to make sure that everyone rides away with at least one useful new skill. Small groups are taken, so booking is essential. Youth Day on Sunday June 16 sees the Capestorm trail run between the vineyards, first of a three-part winter series, in the Simonsberg Conservancy. There will be youth categories in all four distances. Entry for under 18s is R50. Food and drink will be on sale, there will be refreshment stations on the route, lucky draw prizes, and medals at the finish. On Sunday June 30, the mid-year trail takes place on Muratie wine estate, featuring hand-built single-track trails that offer picturesque views of the winelands.
