Jazz and fondue

Counter the winter cold at Delheim Estate with music and victuals, every Sunday until the end of August, in the wine tasting cellar. Guests can enjoy a sizzling pot of melted cheese, along with fresh bread and vegetables for dipping, with optional extras.

“The Cape Town Music Academy is proud to once again partner with Delheim and Jazz in the Native Yards to bring an exciting line-up of some of the freshest and most talented jazz artists to the winelands,” says programme manager, Vicky Davis. “The Jazz and Fondue” series is a wonderful initiative that not only gives our jazz musicians a platform to perform, but also exposes local and international guests to recognise and enjoy the great local music talent that South Africa has to offer.” Jazz in the Native Yards is a traveling live jazz gig that promotes jazz performance and listenership across the Western Cape, including townships, cultural centres and festivals.

The line-up includes the Darren English Trio, on June 30; the Mike Rossi Quartet, on July 7, the Thembelihle Dunjana Quartet, on July 14; the Tumi Pheto Quintet, on July 21; the Buddy Wells Quartet, on July 28; John Hassan, on August 4; Ramon Alexander, on August 11; Schalk Joubert , on August 18; and Bongani Sotshononda and Babalwa Meintjies, on August 25.
