Daniel scoops two golds

Somerset College’s Daniel von der Heyden took the gold medal in the under-12 long jump event at the Western Cape Athletics Championships on Saturday March 2, at Dal Josaphat Stadium in Paarl, setting a new Western Cape record of 5.23m. Daniel also took gold in the same discipline the week before at the Western Province Championships, held at Coetzenburg in Stellenbosch, setting a new Western Province record of 5.11m. Daniel will be competing at the SA Primary School Athletics Championships in Germiston this week.
