Hamediehs Cares Foundation is on a mission to transform their annual Community 10s event into a spectacle that transcends the field of play, aiming to positively impact lives.
Over the weekend at Vygieskraal sports ground, Hamediehs hosted its fifth annual Community 10’s rugby competition.
Tournament director Mogammad Adams said the event is designed to nurture a sense of community, emphasising core rugby values such as camaraderie and positivity.
The success of the tournament is evident in the substantial turnout and palpable enthusiasm displayed by both participants and spectators.
Proceeds from the event are directed towards supporting various youth development programmes identified by the foundation.
“The tournament’s ability to bring people together through the shared love for rugby underscores its significance in promoting sportsmanship, friendship, and the positive spirit of competition,” says Adams.
He called for sponsors to contribute to the expansion of the competition.
In the culmination of the tournament, Collegians secured the Community 10s title with dazzling performances.
Caledonians claimed the Shield category, while Gardens triumphed in the Plate section.
The Values Award was bestowed upon Strand United RFC for their commitment to fair play, sportsmanship, and embodying the true spirit of rugby.
