Woman’s Day celebration in Sir Lowry’s Pass Village

Pictured at the Womens Day event in Sir Lowrys Pass Village, from left, are Nadine Jacobs; Paula Roussouw; Chrizelle Leonard, Child Welfare SA Helderberg; and Kimico Manual, Springbok 7s rugby player.

Child Welfare SA Helderberg (CWHSA) and Sir Lowry’s Pass library recently hosted a Woman’s Day event.

The women from the community were treated to poetry, song and an inspiring message from Kimico Manual of the Springbok 7’s rugby team.

CWHSA empowered the women with a short information session on the Children’s Act, which sparked a great many questions and discussion from everyone.

CWHSA hopes the event inspired the women to become involved in the community by volunteering for the Eye on the Child/Isolabantwana Project of Child Welfare, and be trained to help social workers safeguard children in the community.
