Wheely caring

By taking part in the 2017 BUCO Origin Of Trails two-day MTB Stage Race on Saturday November 25 and Sunday November 26, riders will make a difference in the lives of the children of the Aitsa after-care centre, which opened its doors in January 2014.

Marietjie Steyn, Aitsa founder and manager, says: “The centre strives to expose children to fun activities and programmes in an alternative home environment where they feel loved and special.”

They currently have 145 children between the ages of five and nine, and all the children live in the Dwarsriver Valley, Kylemore in the Banhoek Valley and surrounding farms. The centre offers meals, sport, chess, choir, drama, e-learning, mathematics, reading programmes, homework assistance, counselling, parent support groups and life skills training.
