Theatre on the Bay trip
The Heritage Club of Somerset West is taking a party of members, by coach to Theatre on the Bay, Camps Bay to see a performance of the comedy musical [The Producers] Saturday March 7. Tickets cost R250 which includes the coach trip. The coach leaves Caledon Street car park (opposite the Circle Centre) at 12.30pm for a 4 pm performance so there will be time for lunch or a walk on the beach. The Friends of Richard Dawkins Association meets at the Somerset West Rotary, corner Cloetenberg and Lourensford roads on Thursday March 19 at 7pm for 7.30pm, to view and discuss the video [The story of Jesus: Can we trust the historical reliability of the Gospels?] in which religion scholars Bart D Ehrman and Peter J Williams joined as guests with moderator Justin Brierley on the “Unbelievable” show called “The Big Conversation” in 2018. Folk 101 by Here Be Dragons
[Folk 101] is a classical music production by Here Be Dragons, in the contemporary music category in the Woordfees program, which takes at Weltevreden Estate’s Restaurant Theatre, Cloetesville, Stellenbosch, on Wednesday March 11 at 1pm and Thursday March 12 at 7pm. [Folk 101] explores folk music that was popular in some of Europe’s cultural centres in the 15th and 16th centuries. The program shows how art and folk music influences each other, and includes a bouquet of songs from Scandinavia, the British Isles, France, Spain, Italy and Romania. Agriculturist of the year and fruit quality expert for Woordfees
