Die Helderberg Gemeente, Briza, Somerset-Wes bied ’* reeks dienste aan met die tema “Ek is Jesus se dissipel want” vandag, Woensdag 5 Junie, om 7nm (Joh 5:14-15, “Hy is net ’* gebed ver”), en more, Donderdag 6 Junie, om 7nm (Fil 4:13, “Ek sien vir die lewe kans”). E-waste recycling
Somerset West Neighbourhood Watch (SWNW) is holding a recycling e-waste and scrap metal drive, on Saturday June 8, from 7.30am to 12.30pm, at the gravel parking area opposite the Somerset West police station. Hospice bridge drive
The Bridge4Hospice charity bridge drive will be held on Monday June 10, at 10am, at Erinvale Golf Club, followed by a light lunch. There will be a duplicate bridge tournament as well as a room for social bridge. Duplicate players should organise a partner. Social/rubber bridge players need to make up a table of four. Tickets cost R200, and are on sale from local bridge clubs, or Helderberg Hospice, or by emailing bridge4hospice@gmail.com There will be a raffle, at R10 a ticket, for which there are a number of prizes. First prize is a one-night stay for two, including breakfast, at Misty Waves Boutique Hotel, in Hermanus, valued at R4 000. Garden club meets
The Hottentots Holland Garden Club meets at the Somerset West library hall on Wednesday June 12 at 9.30am for tea, coffee and plant sales, and the meeting starts at 10am. Guest speaker, Cherise Vijoen, senior horticulturist from Kirstenbosch, will discuss guilt-free watering concepts for gardens. Visitors welcome, entry costs R20. No booking required. Station Bargain Warehouse, in conjunction with Somerset West Neighbourhood Watch (SWNW), is have a Mandela Day project, “Declutter and Donate”, where you can take your leftover and redundant bits of fabric, haberdashery, yarn, wool, arts and crafts etc, and they will donate it to an organisation that will re-purpose it to upskill and empower
Take a hike
