Training season begins

■ Volunteer Wildfire Services (VWS) is embarking on training season, with a round of orientation sessions that allow people interested in signing up, the opportunity to learn first-hand what VWS does, and get to grips with the equipment it uses. VWS Grabouw Firebase hosted an orientation session on Saturday April 21, on Vergelegen Wine Estate in Somerset West, where potential new recruits were put through their paces.
