The Klapmutskop trail network has been expanded to give runners four distances to choose from when they take to the track, on Sunday November 27, at the Delvera Farm, for the last event in the 2016 Falke Trail Run Series.
There will be a 15km, 12.5km and 5km run, and the long distance runners will be competing for the Klapmuts Cup trophy.
The longer routes offer great climbing on Jeep tracks through the vineyards towards Klapmutskop, with single track trails and views of Table Mountain.
The 12.5km blue route will give you more of a work-out and climbs on Jeep track among the vineyards towards Klapmutskop.
The 15km includes an extra 3km single track section to the top of the hill (koppie) that is rocky and steep, for fit runners only. There is a self-help water point at the halfway mark and a refreshment station about 4km from the finish. Runners are advised to take along their own water.
The 7.5km loop on the green route has Jeep track and three fun single track sections. One refreshment station is located at the halfway mark at Pepper Tree and this is also the start of the downhill section just below Klapmutskoppie.
The 5km Jeep track circles through the vineyards and around the farm dam with lots of birdlife. Walkers are welcome and this route is easy enough for trail run novices. There are no water points on this stage and no medals will be handed out.
