Dirtopia produces their first Trail Run of the year on Sunday January 21, the Resolution Trail Run presented by Sportsmans Warehouse.
The Trail Run has been ‘running’ since 2014 and this year four distances are on offer, which caters for all levels of fitness.
All routes will do a quick loop through the nearly ripe vineyards and morning views below Simonsberg, before climbing into the singletrack above the cellar.
The 6km route has wide easy trails on the ABC singletrack but go back to the Trail Centre via Exit trail.
The 9km route will give runners more of a work-out with more singletrack and extra loops than the short route. Refreshment station at the look-out point that you’ll hit twice. Back to the finish via the famous Ho Chi Mihn trail.
A 12.5km route is for fitter runners, but is a fun run, as no prizes for adults. The racing snakes must do the 18.5km for top winner prizes. The long distances have singletrack that will circle in the forests with various trails bringing you back to the finish. A self-help water can about halfway and a refreshment station about 4km from the finish.
All finishers will receive a medal and stand a chance to win prizes in the lucky draws with socks from FALKE, Sportsmans Warehouse vouchers, and wine from the Muratie wine estate.
The routes will have the Dirtopia singletrack trails, refreshment stations with Powerade and fruit plus Coke at the finish line.
There will also be PVM nutrition energy bars and gel sampling and recovery drinks.
Registration starts at 6.15am at Dirtopia Trail Centre and the longest distance starts at 7am with other distances following with 10minute gaps.
Walkers and children are welcome on the short distance and prizes will be awarded to top Male and Female participants in each distance crossing the finish line. The coffee station will be open from early morning and grab-and-go breakfast wrap will be on offer here. Make sure to book breakfast or lunch or even wine tasting at Muratie’s Farm Kitchen for sit-down meals before the time.
Pre-entries can be done online at www.dirtpass.co.za until Thursday night January 18. Prices start at R130, while kids under 18 costs only R60 online. All late entries, will be at an additional fee.
