Join Andreas Groenewald for a hike on Sunday July 31, at the Steenbras Nature Reserve. Situated directly behind the Kogel Bay Resort and on the slopes of the mountain along Clarence Drive, lies a beautiful valley that is home to spectacular fynbos and mountain and ocean views. Leading up the mountain is a 5km hiking trail that ends at a lovely viewpoint 670m above sea level. This trail is a full day, 10km, 600m up and down mountain hike, and is only for the able hiker. This is an educational, family day out, hiking through the flowers and experiencing nature in her Cape glory. There will be a lunch break on top of the mountain. The cost is R180 (children under 13 cost R50). Booking is essential. Transport is available for four guests from Somerset West. Coffee and a little treat will be supplied. Make sure you have proper hiking boots/shoes, water, warm clothes and a hat, and lunch/snacks. For more information or to book contact Andreas at 082 344 1096 or andreasg1@vodamail.co.za, by Friday July 29.
