In these fairly rough times, I would like to say thank you to the citizens of Somerset West (belatedly, for health reasons).
Recently I wanted to withdraw cash at the FNB cash dispenser in Main Street, Somerset West.
I am rather handicapped. There was a long queue, and my wife drove me around in the hope that this queue would diminish.
The opposite happened – each time I got back, the queue had grown more and more.
Eventually, I got out of my car on crutches, and asked the people queuing: “Please good people, I cannot stand long at all, I have only a short transaction to do”.
Then 99% of the people shouted, “Please let the old man bypass the queue”.
