Former World Surfing Champion Shaun Tomson, who is in Cape Town to launch his latest book, The Code, gave a talk to dozens of young surfers in Muizenberg, on Sunday March 19. He shared stories from his life, inspiring the youth to believe in themselves by using the power of “I will”, one of the main messages of his book. Shaun was also in Cape Town to open Africa’s first national monument dedicated to preserving and promoting the heritage of surfing at Surfer’s Corner. Plaques honouring the first 30 inductees into the Surfers’ Circle Walk of Fame were unveiled and featured pioneers, legends and world champions who contributed to the development and growth of the country’s surfing lifestyle and sport.
