Farthing Wood Nursery School in Somerset West has celebrated 18 years of supporting the Sunflower Fund, and it is by now a familiar sight to Bolander reaaders to see the front page photo of all the childen wearing their topes in support of Sundflower Day.
This year the theme is “There is a hero in all of us” and Farthing Wood Nursery has their own Sunflower Superhero, young Joshua Fourie, who underwent a stem cell transplant last year in his fight against leukemia. His sister was his donor.
The Sunflower fund is calling out the hero in all South Africans, to do something to make a difference to help patients needing a blood stem cell transplant.
A little goes a long way in helping individuals diagnosed with life-threatening blood diseases such as leukaemia.
