The PJ Olivier Art Centre is kicking off its annual Street Art competion, with an exhibit of six art works by Grade 11 art pupils in the Stellenbosch CBD during August. Members of the public are invited to view the completed art works and vote for their favourites by posting their “likes” on Instagram #pjolivierartcentre. In September the prizes, sponsored by Proud Partners, will be awarded. Pictured is Kate Enslin, who enlisted the help of her young brother James, to paint the undercoat for her giant chameleon that will adorn the bridge crossing the Eerste River near Paul Roos High School. Kate’s painting pays homage to this little creature, inspired by her observation of the many chameleons she noticed that are flattened by cars along this route when she walks from her school.
