With reference to Debbie Wybrow’s article (“Why it matters”, Bolander January 23), I wish to stress that, according to international public law, the three important requisites to establish a state are: territory, population and sovereignty.
If one of these requisites is missing, a state doesn’t exist. Thence it is a priority compulsory task of the government to take care of population (as it takes care to protect the territory).
To improve the demography of the country it is most relevant that the government takes all necessary steps, by establishing appropriate social services to protect its inhabitants (population) in order to exist as a state.
Strictly taking care from the moment a woman is pregnant, assisting her when giving birth to a new member of its population and giving assistance, through due social services, to the child and all children with and without family.
