Socks for firefighters

■ Falke South Africa, manufacturer of a range of socks for a variety of applications, has donated 100 pairs of speciality hiking socks to the firefighters of Volunteer Wildfire Services Jonkershoek Firebase. Speaking at the annual post fire season debrief in Stellenbosch on Saturday May 26, station manager, Alida Fanfoni, said: “Many of our fireline deployments are in remote areas, and our crews have to hike to the fireline over arduous terrain. These socks will drastically reduce the possibility of blisters, and ensure increased comfort during deployments.”
