Simphiwe Ngewu from Khanyolwethu Secondary School in Lwandle, Strand, recently received an award for excellent achievement across the Western Cape after he amassed seven distinctions in last year’s national senior certificate exams. His achievement, which included passing five subjects with a grade of 90% and more, also gained him a Thuthuka bursary from the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) to pursue his dream of becoming a chartered accountant. After receiving this award, Simphiwe was honoured by his high school at a special school assembly, during which the school renamed its maths and science laboratory after him.
