I have just finished reading the article in Bolander (“Driver in hot water for exceeding estate speed limit”, Bolander May 6), and I can’t believe the woman in question can be so selfish in thinking she can overrule the speed limit of her estate.
Why does she not go on a race track if she wants to speed.
As it states, there are pedestrians, small animals, golf carts and others on the road who adhere to the speed limit so why should she think she can
do what she wants
and then has the temerity to take the Homeowners Association (HOA) to court.
We have a speed limit of 30km/* in my estate, and there are people who do not even abide by that and we are constantly being informed in our weekly newsletter to be careful.
I never ceases to amaze me that some people think they have the right to do what they want and to hell with everybody else.
You see it on the roads in town, they don’t stop at stop
streets, never indicate when turning, and of course speed.
It is people like this that cause accidents and sadly, most of the time, they get off scot free and the other party is the victim.
I am pleased to read that the HOA of her estate dealt with the matter in the way they did and also had her biometric access cards deactivated.
