Sarah Eichler, a 10-year-old Wellington resident, has been selected to represent the Western Cape at Miss Junior South Africa 2020.
The pageant takes place from Tuesday March 24 to Saturday March 28 in Pretoria and she will be participating in the pre-teen age group with girls between nine and 10 years of age, from all nine provinces.
Sarah is one of five children, and she is actively involved in her community. She collects second-hand clothing for a soup kitchen in Paarl, supports Huis Andrew Murray in Wellington, donates to the Wellington SPCA and visits the Wellington police station every year at Christmas time.
She has been doing pageants for three years, attends modelling lessons at RVT Modeling School and has won local, national, continental and international titles such as: Little Miss Winelands 2017, Miss Petite South Africa 2018, Miss Pre-Teen Africa 2019 and Petite Queen of the Universe 2018.
When she isn’t doing pageants she enjoys attending ballet classes at Joy Cargill Ballet School in Paarl, swimming, making slime and playing with her siblings.
Miss and Mr Junior South Africa is hosted annually by Pageants SA and contestants are judged over five days in evening wear, casual wear, interviews and themed wear. Besides the main title, there are several other awards that can be won, for example, “Public Choice” is awarded to the finalist with the most Facebook likes and “Face of South Africa” goes tothe finalist who received the most SMS votes.
