On behalf of Stellenbosch Rotary Club, I would like to pass on our condolences to Vera Sperling and her family for the sad loss of Spatz Sperling, a true entrepreneur, who contributed to enable us to raise funds for many of our projects (“Delheim’s legendary Spatz Sperling passes”, Bolander October 11).
He was always willing to share his entertaining and interesting stories as guest speaker at our fund-raising meetings and events.
As was mentioned, he was a legend in his time, and it is an honour to have been associated so closely with such a man who more than fulfilled his vision of helping those who were less fortunate than himself by his great generosity and kindness.
