The Somerset West Unitarian Fellowship will be meeting on Sunday November 5, at 10.30am, at Vonke House, 121 Lourensford Road.
A presentation will be given by Kevin Pippert who will be speaking on rural community transformation.
Kevin is the Southern Africa coordinator for Medical Ambassadors International (based in California, USA), and founding director of 360 Transformation, a South African Christian NPO organisation based in Somerset West.
Its primary work is to train and mentor organisations, churches, and communities in a strategy of wholistic community development called Community Health Evangelism (CHE), a strategy of wholistic ministry that has been adapted and is used in about 100 countries around the world, empowering ordinary community members to live healthy lives (physically, emotionally, socially and spiritually), and to then share the “Good News” of wholistic community health to their neighbors.
Kevin has a passion to empower motivated individuals and organisations, and communities to take ownership for their own development, not waiting for or relying on others to do things for them.
Originally, Kevin is from Chicago, USA. He and his wife, Erica, from Durban, have lived in Somerset West since March 2006.
Entry is free, and a donations will be accepted. Light refreshments will be served after the presentation.
