■ Over the past two years the Helderberg Rotary Anns have been running Project Dignity, where they have distributed Subz pads and panties to school pupils who ordinarily would not be able to afford expensive sanitary products. The idea was to minimise absenteeism from school when girls have their periods. The Anns have distributed nearly 600 of the Subz packs to many NGOs, primary schools, the Somerset West Clinic, and schools for the disabled. The pads and panties are made with high quality materials, and the panties have press studs which hold the pad in place, and are made from 100% cotton-knit. The panties and pads should last two to three years, which implies a major saving. The Helderberg Rotary Anns would like to thank the DG Murray Trust for their support throughout this project. They are also grateful to Aramex SA, who organised the packs to be couriered from Durban to Somerset West at no cost, which meant that more packs could be bought.”
