The municipal manager of Drakenstein, Dr Johann Leibrandt, centre, recently addressed the Paarl Rotary Club on how he sees the future of Drakenstein. Dr Leibrandt stressed that Drakenstein is already considered one of the best managed municipalities in the country, but that growth was essential and that red tape delaying development must be reduced.
He said that giant strides have already been made with upgrading the system of approval for building plans, bringing the waiting period down to 30 days.
