Reddam House is proud to announce that after months of planning and construction, the opening of their world-class indoor aquatics centre will take place at Reddam on Thursday October 25, from 4pm to 6pm.
“This state-of-the-art facility features a 30mx25m heated pool for year-round training which will enable us to produce swimmers and water polo players of an international calibre.
“Not only do we have this superb facility, but we have also secured one of the best swimming coaches in the country,” said Gavin Budd, executive head.
Peter Williams, former Olympian swimmer, will be heading up the Reddam House Swimming Academy. In addition to this, Reddam House will be opening a new co-educational boarding facility in 2019, called Reddam Res.
“At Reddam Res we will house students in separate residences that will provide all the benefits and comforts of a unique home-away-from-home space. Boarders will be actively encouraged to be independent adolescents, while equipping them with the life skills necessary to face an increasingly challenging global future with confidence,” said Mr Budd.
With the opening of the aquatics centre and Reddam Res, the school has decided to offer a limited number of scholarships to top swimmers in the country. Outstanding swimmers who wish to be considered may contact the school at info.somerset@reddam.house.
Members of the public are invited to the opening of the aquatics centre, where they can enjoy an inter-school relay gala, and an exhibition water polo match. Peter Williams, the swimming academy coach, and Ryk Neethling, the patron of the Reddam House Aquatics Centre, will be in attendance.
There will be a DJ and a range of food stalls at the venue selling food. Call 010 060 4230.
