With the greatest of respect for the writer’s views, I believe that a sub-editor should feel free to fashion captions and headlines which capture the readers’ imagination.
“Worshipping Ra” is merely a figurative way of saying that one enjoys and is grateful for the sun, one of the myriad wonders of nature. Appreciation of the beauty surrounding us is one way of paying homage to the creator of the universe, and this need not be expressed in rigidly formal terms.
As a postscript, may I express my thanks and congratulations to the Bolander for providing us with sparkle and upliftment each week by focusing on the good, the beautiful and the positive in our lives.
