A highlight of the Cape Community Newspaper (CCN) calendar is the annual Pennies for Princesses Women’s Day fundraiser. Now in its sixth year, tickets for the glittering gathering are sought after, and this year was no different. According to Chantel Erfort, editor-in-chief of CCN – which publishes Bolander and 14 other titles – tickets were sold out within a minute of sales having opened. Held on Friday August 12, in the ballroom of the Table Bay Hotel, a total of R88 400 was raised for Dews of Quietness, a support group for women and children based in Retreat.
